The designer spent an entire dusk by a lake in late autumn: wind blushed the clouds pale gray, the lake held the sunset’s lingering warmth, and shore pebbles glowed with soft, moist light. Later, when she came across these gray baroque pearls, their hazy iridescence matched that lake shore exactly. She strung them freely, no modifications at all: "That lake light shouldn’t fade only in memory. String these pearls into a necklace, and when you lower your head, it’s like brushing against the soft gray of that late-autumn lakeshore."
