Working late into the night, the designer spotted a star half-hidden by clouds on her windowsill—its faint cool glow stood out all the more. Later, she picked this gray-hued pearl and bound it simply with a thin silver chain: "That unassuming light in the dark shouldn’t only shine in the sky. String it around the neck, like tying that night’s star to the collar; when you lower your head, you can touch the quiet glow of solitude."
